1) I sit at my computer and check my latest RSS feeds using Google Reader, discovering the new XKCD comic.

2) Not recognizing a movie referenced, I skim the top of the article of Primer in Wikipedia, being careful not to read too far down so I can avoid spoilers.

3) At this point thoroughly intrigued, I sit down at the sofa, and immediately start watching it over streaming Netflix.

So in the span of 3 minutes I hear of, learn about, and start watching, a indie movie that turned out to be really good, simply because a man on the other side of the country referenced it in a comic an hour before.

The new Wolfmother album is really really good.

I particularly like 10,000 Feet and Sundial.

Back from Georgia. I was repeatedly fed, as that is the custom for visiting family in the deep south. I visited with:

My mother, and her family:
-Her husband, my stepfather
-My grandmother
-My grandfather
--His wife, my step-grandmother (whom I am actually very close to).
-My uncle
-My aunt (briefly)

NOT my father, but much of his family:
-My grandmother
-My grandfather
--His wife, my step-grandmother
-not one but TWO uncles
--Two nephews
--One uncle's wife and one uncle's girlfriend
-My aunt

So, in total: 17 family members.

On a completely unrelated topic: This is the best argument for universal health insurance I have ever read.

A week of contrasts: Going from a pristine natural setting, filled with the beauty and wonder of the forest, to a giant teeming mass of humans and technology, cat5 and DS's and Secretary of Geek Affairs Wil Wheaton as far as the eye can see.

This contrast could be described as stark.

If you never hear from me again, I was eaten by a cougar.

The rate the summer is ending is much higher than the rate my debt is diminishing. And the problem here is, I haven't really bought any new shinies at all this year. No ipod, no Wii, no computer upgrades at all, same old used phone, no particular splurges on anime or what have you. I completely skipped sakuracon this year. I haven't purchased a new video game at all since Wrath of the Lich King (but honestly while I'm still in this WoW kick, I don't have time for other games). I've been downright frugal. The only things I"m blowing money on is coffee, which I have been trying to make at home for the most part, and the semi-rare dining out.

I should be made huge strides, but I'm coasting. It does not help that my interest rates have essentially doubled in the past year for absolutely no discernible reason whatsoever, except that the bank wants more of my money than they were getting before. It's certainly nothing I have done wrong.

Plus I still need to do paperwork and fill out admission forms and figure out exactly where, when, and how I'm going back to school.

I feel like I've been working my tail off and have nothing to show for it.

Bad news: I have lost my earbuds. I particulary wanted to listen to some SoaD, so with it being 2:30am speakers are not a good idea. I just can't find them though.

Good News: What I did find was $119 in a disheveled pile under my calculus textbook. That's the kind of surprise I like. Losing wads of cash is just an occupational hazard as a pizza driver.

Too warm in seattle. And I need a haircut badly. Hair keeps getting in my eyes when I drive with the windows down. Not ideal.
